‘Fantastic Four’ Engages Jeff Kaplan And Ian Springer To Write Script – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: With Matt Shakman on board as director, miracle Studios has now found its writers to deliver the new Fantastic four Photo Sources tell Deadline that: Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer are on board to write the script for the film.

Insiders add that the writing duo has actually been involved in Fantastic four for quite some time, even before Shakman was hired as director, and they’ve outlined where this next batch of movies along with Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, will fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kaplan, Springer and Shakman now come together to align their vision for this project before the writer dives into the script. Feige takes the picture.

Bee Disney’s D23 Event this month, Feige confirmed Shakman as director of the film, but said that was all he had for the audience at the time, with no cast on board. Feige and Shakman are now focusing on finding actors while the script is being written. Fantastic four has been an anticipated feature for MCU fans dating back to the days when Disney acquired Fox and absorbed all of its assets. Since then, fans have been wondering when they would get that new run of movies, and Feige answered that at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, saying the movie begins Phase 6bowing on November 8, 2024. It will be: followed by two Avengers movies: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on May 2, 2025 and Avengers: Secret Wars six months later.

As for Kaplan and Springer, while new to the scene, the writing duo is one of the better screenwriting teams in town, having sold a number of specs over the past year. One of those high-profile projects is the Warner Bros. comedy. Disaster Wedding, who recently landed Palm Springs Helmer Max Barbakow lead.

Kaplan and Springer are assisted by MGMT, Gersh and attorney Ben Rubinfeld.
