Samsung unpacked in August: What to expect

Galaxy S21 FE specifications

The Galaxy S21 FE’s spec list reportedly appeared on China’s TENAA certification website (via MyFixGuide). According to the list, the phone would have a 6.4-inch screen with 2,340×1,080 pixel resolution, a 4,370 mAh battery, three cameras (a 32-megapixel main lens, a 12-megapixel front-facing and an 8-megapixel lens). megapixel), a fingerprint sensor on the screen and support for 45 watts fast charging. The phone will also include 8 GB RAM as well as 128 GB and 256 GB storage options.

If true, a 6.4-inch screen would make the phone slightly taller than the 6.2-inch screen on the advanced Galaxy S21, while being slightly smaller than the 6.5-inch screen on last year’s Galaxy S20 FE. However, this camera would be both a step up from the Galaxy S20 FE’s main 12-megapixel lens and a step down from the S21’s 64-megapixel camera.

Several rumor specs were reportedly seen on the Google Play Console analysis tool, according to MyFixGuide, including 6GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 888 chip.

The phone could also include four free months of YouTube Premium, as SamMobile reports that Samsung France’s website briefly stated that the perk came with the purchase of a Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus or Galaxy S21 Ultra.

A leaked user guide for the Galaxy S21 FE, obtained by SamMobile, supported some of the previously rumored features, including an on-screen fingerprint sensor. It also showed that the new phone could offer reverse wireless charging, IP68 dust and water resistance and Dolby Atmos support. The manual did not mention a microSD slot that appeared on last year’s Galaxy S20 FE.

According to a copy of the phone’s firmware, also obtained by SamMobile, the Galaxy S21 FE is said to ship with Android 12 and One UI 4.0. If true, this means that anyone who buys the Galaxy S21 FE will immediately get all the features available in both Google and Samsung’s latest mobile software without having to wait.

It is rumored that a successor to the Galaxy S20 FE is coming soon.

What will the S21 FE look like?

The noted delicious Evan Blass posted pictures that may be Galaxy S21 FE.

The well-known delicious Evan Blass tweeted out various alleged Samsung reproductions in July, which included a possible look at the Galaxy S21 FE. Blass later revealed what he said was 3D renderings of the upcoming smartphone on Twitter in August.

According to the reproductions on his account, the phone could have a similar look to the Galaxy S21, including a punch-out for the front-facing camera and three cameras on the back.

The resemblance to the S21 makes sense: The Galaxy S20 FE retained much of the S20’s design language, while making cuts in screen resolution and the cameras that likely helped bring the price down. And according to a leak reported by SamMobile, the S21 FE will reportedly come in at least five colors. But the leaked user manual for the upcoming phone, also from SamMobile, showed that the Galaxy S21 FE would come in four color options, white, black, green and purple. WinFuture also shows the phone in four colors with black, white, pink and green options.

We may have gotten a look at the Galaxy S21 FE in a back-to-school promo image that was briefly posted to Samsung’s official Instagram account in August. The phone is shown in a backpack next to a laptop and a pair Galaxy Buds Pro. It looks like Galaxy S21 rear view, but is shown in a purple color that is not currently one of the color options for the Galaxy S21. The post has since been deleted from Samsung’s account.

Leaky photos of the Galaxy S21 FE’s back panel were posted on Twitter by Quandt last month. Although none of the photos show the phone fully assembled, they reveal the Galaxy S21 FE’s camera layout with room for three lenses and an LED flash.

Marketing images of the Galaxy S21 FE were also leaked by Coinbrs who gave us a new look at the phone before its debut. The upcoming phone seems to have a similar look as the Galaxy S21 and the pictures show us many previously rumored features. Coinbrs also presumed many of the device’s specifications, including its 6.4-inch screen, hollow-punch screen with a 32-megapixel selfie camera and in-display fingerprint scanner.

What will the S21 FE cost?

The price of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE started at $ 699 in the US, which was a significant discount from the starting price of the Galaxy S20 at $ 999. This price also undercut rival OnePlus 8T’s starting price of $ 749.

However, the Galaxy S21’s starting price of $ 800 was significantly lower than the Galaxy S20’s, and it seems unlikely that a Galaxy S21 FE would receive a similar $ 300 discount – which Galaxy A series of phones it occupies the price range of under $ 500.

Although we have no concrete price information, a report from GizChina assumes that the S21 FE line could be launched with a starting price of $ 699, the same as the starting price at the launch of the Galaxy S20 FE. That price would still put it about $ 100 lower than the Galaxy S21, placing it as an option for a higher value.

If the tweeted photos are actually Galaxy S21 FE, the phone looks like the more expensive Galaxy S21 in design.

When will it be announced and released?

Although the Galaxy S21 FE was not revealed on August foldable event or Samsung’s October event, it’s likely to follow last year’s pattern of getting a stand-alone announcement – if it’s announced at all.

That The Galaxy S20 FE had its own Unpacked event in September 2020; the phone’s unveiling was hailed as “a tribute to its Galaxy fans.” However, the release of this phone was very close to the release of Z Fold 2, which also took place in September.

A September report by prolific and Front Page Tech founder Jon Prosser suggested that the Galaxy S21 FE’s launch date would be October, which failed. Now he is wondering that Galaxy S21 FE will be revealed on one on Jan. 4, and Galaxy S22 announced at a separate event on February 8th.

LetsGoDigital also hypothesizes that the Galaxy S21 FE will launch early next year on January 11, while SamMobile reports that the phone is set to debut at CES 2022, which is in early January.

Prior to the latest rumors about the phone’s launch date, speculation from the South Korean publication DDaily says that the company has considered canceling the Galaxy S21 FE and had allegedly removed the support pages for the phone. The company has previously added support pages to the smartphone under its model number, SM-G990B, which was removed following rumors of the phone’s cancellation, but the pages have now been re-uploaded to Samsung’s websites.

Leaker @IceUniverse has said that it is “reasonable“for Samsung to cancel the Galaxy S21 FE if the company releases Galaxy S22 In December.
