Do you often open a specific folder on your Windows 11 PC? If so, assign the folder a keyboard shortcut to open it quickly next time. We’ll show you how to give your folders custom keyboard shortcuts in Windows 11.

How Custom Keyboard Shortcuts Work

In this solution, you create a desktop shortcut to your specific folder. Then assign that desktop shortcut to a keyboard shortcut.

Pressing the assigned keyboard shortcut opens your specified folder in a File Explorer window. This saves you from having to manually locate and open the folder.

If you have multiple folders that you want to open this way, create desktop shortcuts to all of these folders and place these desktop shortcuts in a folder on your desktop. This is to ensure that your desktop does not get cluttered with so many folder shortcuts.
