He has fought against former basketball players and two aging MMA masters, but now Jake Paul is finally ready to fight a proper boxer.

It’s boxing? Tommy Fury, half-brother of the reigning heavyweight king Tyson Fury.

It’s a battle that has been under discussion for some time now. Fury fought on Paul’s last undercard, against MMA fighter Anthony Taylor, but is probably most famous in the UK for his appearances in the reality show Love Island.

When will Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury place?

Jake Paul Vs. Tommy Fury is scheduled for Dec. 18 in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Match details

Jake Paul Vs. Tommy Fury will take place at Amalie Arena over 8 rounds and will be battling a 192 pound catchweight. That’s pretty much the weight Jake Paul usually struggles with.

His last two fights with former MMA fighters who usually fought at 170.

This time, Paul is fighting against someone who is much closer to his own height and natural weight. It’s also the first time he’s fought anyone, in Fury, with a similar amount of boxing experience. Fury’s current record is 7-0, with four knockouts to his name. Jake Paul is current with 4-0.

The match will be available on PPV through Showtime. More details to come.

Match regulations

Much like Jake Paul’s last match, which had a bizarre tattoo bet – his last opponent Tyron Woodley had to get an “I love Jake Paul” tattoo after losing – this new match also has a few strange conditions.

This time, Jake Paul tries to make a bet, giving Tommy Fury an extra $ 500,000 if he wins, but has to change his name to Tommy Fumbles if he loses. This is probably traced back to an earlier interview where Fury’s father and coach said Tommy Fury would have to change his name if he lost to a Paul brother.

Right now, nothing is final or official.
