The Department of Defense is investigating a U.S. Navy that told a Trump rally to be “the guy who pulled the child over the wall” in Kabul, Task & Purpose reported.

A August 19 video taken during the insane U.S. military withdrawal from Kabul showed a U.S. Navy hoisting a little baby girl over a razor blade outside Kabul airport.

At a “Save America” meeting in Perry, Georgia, on Saturday, Lance Cpl. Hunter Clark seemed to claim he was the Marine.

Hi my name is Lance Corporal Hunter Clark, I’m here from Warner Robins, Georgia. I’m the guy who pulled the baby over the wall, and it’s definitely one of the greatest things I’ve ever done in all of my life, “he said.

“I just want to thank you all for the support, it really means a lot and I’m happy to be home today, thank you.”

While Clark did not say when he helped evacuate a baby, Clark’s command told Task & Purpose that Clark was not the Navy seen in the August 19 video.

Clark is also under investigation due to his appearance, Task & Purpose reported.

“The 24th Navy Expeditionary Force has launched a command investigation into LCpl Hunter Clark’s participation in the event last weekend to determine if any DoD policies were violated,” Captain Kelton J. Cochran, a spokesman for the 24th MEU, told the department.

Cochran did not say what policy Clark may have violated, but Department of Defense guidelines prohibit U.S. troops from speaking “before a party-political rally, including any rally that promotes a party-political party, candidate, or cause.”

The Department of Defense did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.

Clark did not wear his uniform at the Trump rally, and he did not continue to make any political statements.

The child seen in the video was eventually reunited with his father, the Marine Corps later said NBC News.
