In August, Google shocked everyone when it released a full teaser video for its new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones months earlier than usual. Since then, however, we have received only small chunks of leaks and information as the inevitable release date approaches. Now, Google just dropped another Pixel 6 ad that suggests the phone is “coming soon,” but that’s it.
Prior to this latest video, Google began running Pixel 6 ads on live TV in September, suggesting that the long-awaited new phones “come fall 2021”. At this point, it’s clear they’re slowly building up for launch, but we still do not know when these phones will arrive.
As you can see from the latest video above, which aired live in Japan from October 1, “Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro” is coming soon. Unfortunately, we are not learning anything new about the phones, Android 12 or the release from these videos. Instead, Google simply shows users the new changes to the Material You software, teases the phone, and has fun.
Rumors are still swirling everywhere about a possible release date, but most agree that an event or launch should take place around October 19th or 28th. If so, you can expect to hear more from Google soon. Plus, we still expect a Pixel Fold sometime before the end of the year.
