EUGENE – Travis Dye, Oregon’s starting to run back and the Pac-12’s leader in all-purpose yards this season, has entered the transfer portal, but he may not be gone yet.
Dye, who had 211 carriers for 1,271 yards – number 10 in UO single-season history – and 16 touchdowns and 46 catches for 402 yards and two scores this season, entered the portal Friday, according to a source with knowledge of the case. , who said Dye is still thinking of returning to UO for his senior season.
A fourth-year junior, Dye is automatically inducted into the 2022 NFL Draft and has until Feb. 4 to choose and his final year of qualifying for college football next season.
Dye had career highs in carries, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, receptions and receiving yards in 2021. He was the first player to lead Oregon in both rushing yards and receptions in a season since Sean Burwell in 1992.
The native of Norco, California is one of five Oregon players rushing for 3,000 career yards. Dye has 521 career carries for 3,111 yards and 21 touchdowns with 83 catches for 869 yards and eight touchdowns in 48 games.
