If you want to me, you spent your childhood dreaming of light you could control by clapping. Clapper’s premise was brilliant: no more getting out of bed to hit the light switch. You can still buy Clapper! But technology has come a long way since then. Now you can control the lights, set timers and schedules and change colors with your smartphone or voice if you have a smart assistant – no clapping is required.
If you want to make your home just one little smarter, smarter bulbs are a great place to start. Most options are relatively inexpensive and they are easy to install. In addition, there are no cameras or door locks that anyone can hack into. If you want to make your home even smarter, most of these brands also have a list of other products, e.g. Security cameras and connectors.
Do you want to try voice control? Consider getting a smart speaker or smart screen. But you can always use the bulb’s app.
