  • Fans can own a piece of the Green Bay Packers Franchise for $ 300.
  • The team will sell 300,000 shares from Tuesday to February 25, 2022.
  • The shares do not rise in value or yield dividends; they are just to brag.

Fans of the Green Bay Packers can buy shares in the franchise for bragging only and for $ 300 apiece.

The NFL team is offering 300,000 shares Tuesday through Feb. 25, 2022, that individuals can purchase. Although it is called a “stock”, it does not do what most stocks do, such as increase in value or pay dividends to owners. It can not be traded either.

Instead, fans get a certificate of purchase and the opportunity to say they own part of a professional football team.

“We appreciate the interest that fans have expressed,” Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy said of the team’s sixth share offering. Previous deals were in 1923, 1935, 1950, 1997 and 2011, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Only residents of the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands can buy a stake, and individuals are limited to 200 shares in total, according to the press release. The money raised will go to the renovation of Packers Stadium, the Lambeau field, the Journal said. More information about the offer will be given when it begins.

So far this season, the Packers are in first place in the NFC North Conference with eight wins and two losses.
