Her Majesty, who turned 95 earlier this year, is always looking for pre-copies of Christmas editions, the sitcom’s star said.

Brendan O’Carroll has spoken out as the smash hit sitcom returns for two festive editions.

He said: “One of the few who gets a sample copy is Buckingham Palace. I was speechless a few years ago when our producer first told me they wanted a preschool.”

He explained: “The magic ingredient is the audience. They let us know if there is anything not funny.

“The deal with her is – this is your night out, so come on in, sit down and we’ll make you laugh. I’m never seen the show before it’s on television.

The Queen is an enthusiastic TV fan, and reports earlier this year suggested that some doctors were worried about how much time the Queen would be watching late at night.

Mrs Brown’s Boys is a BBC One omedy starring Brendan O’Carroll as the vocal Irish matriarch Agnes Brown, whose favorite pastime is the lives of her six children.

It will be back with a New Year’s special after broadcast on Christmas Day.
