Ukrainian Residents Without Heat, Water as Shelling Continues in Frontline Town of Avdiivka

Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty (RFE / RL) spoke on March 27 to residents of Avdiivka, Ukraine, who said their access to basic utilities has been disrupted due to Russian shelling. The town is located in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, north of Donetsk city and near areas held by the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, and is considered to be on the front line of fighting. “They are shelling a lot. You can see that the houses are damaged. My health is deteriorating, and there are no medicines, no electricity, no water, no heating. We have nothing, ”said a Russian-speaking woman identified by RFE / RL as Maria. Credit: Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty via Storyful
