Apple has just released iOS 15.0.1 and it fixes the issue that some iPhone 13 owners had where they could not unlock their devices using an Apple Watch while wearing a mask. If you suffer from that problem, it’s time to update your phone.

iOS 15.0.1 is here!

As mentioned, the main feature with iOS 15.0.1 is the fix for iPhones that could not use the Unlock feature with Apple Watch to unlock their devices using Face ID while wearing a mask.

The original Apple Support Document on the issues said:

Apple has identified an issue where unlocking with the Apple Watch may not work with iPhone 13 devices. You may see “Cannot communicate with Apple Watch” if you try to unlock your iPhone while wearing a face mask or if you may not be able to configure Unlock with Apple Watch.

Now Apple has added a mention to update your device to resolve the issue on this support page.

The update also comes with a few other fixes. Some users complained that the Settings app reported that their devices are full when they are not. With the latest iOS update, that should not happen anymore.

A minor issue caused audio meditation to unexpectedly start a workout on the Apple Watch for some Fitness + subscribers, and this update has also been fixed.

What about other iOS 15 bugs?

Although these were the most common iOS 15 issues, some users have reported issues with the touch screen responsiveness and other errors. These issues do not appear to have been resolved in iOS 15.0.1, so if you are facing issues with the touch screen, you may need to wait a little longer before fixing them.
